Free forum : DBR - Dragon Ball Reborn

A short read and the first "chapter" of the game mechanics of DBR. This guide will give you the basic info you need when playing. How will the events play out, what is the timeline, does DBR follow the original storyline etc. All those minor questions that can be quite annoying sometimes, especially when you don't know if your story breaks some of the basic rules of DBR's universe.

Like you probably (and hopefully! :P) already know, this rpg is an alternative reality one. It basically means the players are able to build an entirely new reality with their actions. The twist is simple: you'll be controlling the way our story ends. The story we know can change suddenly, and take an entirely new path. Speaking of the story, it starts about 2 years before Raditz lands on Earth.

We try to be as canon-friendly as possible, but to support some facts we have set up, we have to make up some stories that would never have occurred in DBZ. And yeah, Dragon Ball Z is our main focus, something from Dragon Ball might appear one day, but the staff (at the time of writing this) never really watched it, so they have less Dragon Ball knowledge. And DBGT is NOT considered to be a part of this rpg!

- How come Saiyans are still alive?

Simple, Frieza never saw it necessary to destroy the planet. The saiyans are employed by Frieza, who feels safe since no saiyan is not even capable of reaching his true power of 12,000,000. It has become quite clear that the super saiyan is a mere legend, or is it?

- Changeling History

(READ THIS IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY A CHANGELING!)

The "changelings" had a homeplanet once, an icy world of powerful beings. However, afraid of his own people, King Cold slaughtered most of them. The race had powerful individuals, who naturally strived for galactic domination and lordship. The risk was too great and something had to be done. In their paranoia, the Colds destroyed their own homeworld, thinking they were the only ones left. This event was known as the "Deceit of King Cold", and it must be mentioned in roleplays. Our changeling players will play the survivors of this treacherous event.
