Roleplaying Activities

Activities are anything you'd like to do in the game. Training, shopping, open rp and fighting/sparring, to name a few. Many of these activities involve only your posts, but some require one or more companions. You post your work on the planet you are on. For the effects to take place, you must be approved (and sometimes graded) by a staff member, then an admin will modify your character page (the outmost, right tab in your profile) to reflect these changes. Fighting and dragon ball searching are both quite big topics so they have their own pages.
You get "graded" for completing quests, working and training. This means that the staff member who approves your post, examines your rp and rates it, giving a grade of 1-10. The higher the grade, the better the rp is considered. When training or questing, the grade awards statpoints (5 multiplied by grade). When working, it gives zeni (100 multiplied by grade).
Training

Training is the best way to increase your battle stats and the only way to get SP if you don't do quests. This is considered vital to your progress in the rpg. A few races have perks to help with training, or better starting conditions to do it. This might just be the first activity you'll do.
When training you don't only get to increase your power, you can also learn new techniques. To learn a technique you need to face the requirements for that desired technique and roleplay how your character practises the move and eventually pulls it off perfectly. Moves require a certain number of words and an amount of SP (Skill points) that must be spent, so be careful and keep an eye on both your wordcount and SP. You can also level up techniques, increasing their PR and accuracy values respectively. Each level adds one point to PR and accuracy. To level up a technique, you must reach the minimum wordcount again, and spend the amount SP it would take to learn, again. In your roleplay your character should practise the move, acknowledging the new level of control.
But let's get to the point! Training can be done in four ways: Self-training, Partner Training, Master Training and Sparring.
- Self-training
This is the standard form of training where a player trains alone. You can self-train up to four times per week. Make a post on the board of your location, in this post you roleplay how your character does some workout, maybe breaks stuff or practises a move in case you are learning/leveling up one. You should develop a small storyline to help with the process. Remember to notify the staff about any weighted clothing/training items and the likes. Remember to put effort into trainings, but don't force yourself to continue if you are feeling uninspired, this will hurt quality.
After finishing the story, you need to make the necessary notifications in the bottom of the post, these would include: wordcount, gravity, training equipment/items used and techniques learned/leveled up. After that phase you get the skill point gain, divide wordcount by 1,000 and round up if necessary. Then stats get an increase depending on your current power level. Once you reach higher power levels, you gain more from trainings.
PL is 1,000 - 9,999 = +1 to all stats.
PL is 10,000 - 19,999 = +5 to all stats.
PL is 20,000 - 99,999 = +10 to all stats.
PL is 100,000 - 499,999 = +20 to all stats.
PL is 500,000 - 999,999 = +40 to all stats.
PL is higher than 1,000,000 = +50 to all stats.
After that, you receive a grade (explained above the training section). We judge by looking at the wordcount, depth, detail and effort. This can be a big help when starting, you can gain 5,000 PL at best.
- Partner Training
If you are a social person, ask someone to train with you!
- Master training
Self-explanatory. This is like self-training, but you train under a master. Every master training post is treated as one self-training session, so it's a max of 4 per week. For instance: if you have trained under a master twice in a week, you can do a max of 2 self-trainings. Everyone is allowed to train up to 4 times under one master.
Training under a master can be efficient since they can provide you with gains you couldn't get at your current PL. For example, if I had 7,000 PL I would gain +2 to all stats from normal training, but training under some master would give +4 to all stats. Sounds better, right? Masters can also teach you special and powerful techniques like the Kamehameha. These moves are on average more powerful than normal ones.
In your rp your character goes through training, but you have to have (insert master name here) with your character, obviously. Please take into note everything you know about the master as a character. If you want, there can be friendship between you and your master, just don't overdo it.
Final words... Make sure you fit the master's requirements and you are of the same alignment. Good players train with good masters, neutral players can train with both good/evil masters and evil ones train with evil masters. Also be sure you find your master in the right place, RP location that is. Detail is important, right?
After finishing your post, you receive SP and the master's promised stat bonuses and secondly the grade bonus. Gravitrons and the likes are unavainable during master training, so gravity greater than x10 won't count. Training items and equipment do add into your stats, as always.
- Sparring
A spar is a friendly match between two volunteering players. You can have a spar any day, unless you had training that day. So after sparring you can't train during that day and vice versa. It is like a battle, but since it's a friendly match, there are some special rules. The opponent cannot be killed, when you reach 50% of your HP you lose, no transformations and no allies can jump in unless both accept. A spar starts like any normal battle, you must be on the same location with your sparring mate and both must agree.
The match ends if the other fighter reaches half of his original HP, or if the other forfeits. The winner gains 25% of the loser's PL to distribute and the loser gains 10% of the winner's PL. Gravity and training items have an effect, but both players must be strong enough to train in that level of gravity.
- Gravity Bonus
Each level of gravity pushes your body further, but don't go like Yamcha in 300 times normal gravity. x1 normal gravity means Earth's gravity like we all know. Each level of gravity gives you a stat point. If I trained in x100 gravity I'd gain an extra 100 points = 10,000 PL. Additionally, each level of gravity you go up requires 100 PL. So I'd need to have at least 10,000 or more PL to train in x100. High gravity can be achieved by buying a gravity chamber and upgrading it. They automatically come with a gravitron that supports up to x20 normal gravity. These machines are sold on Earth, Vegeta, and Frieza 79. Gravity chambers can be bought only if you own a house or a spaceship that's big enough.
Working

Working is a way to earn steady income of zeni in the rpg, some jobs give stat raises and other special bonuses too. You are allowed to work five times per week. To work you need a job, pretty logical. To get a job, pick the job you want and make a new post. In this post you pretty much roleplay getting a new job (if it's the first time), and you then start to learn it, eventually getting paid. Like with training, it's useful to develop a storyline to help, but make sure it fits your job. If I were a law enforcer I'd chase criminals the whole day, beating em' up. If I were a mentor of sorts, I'd teach my pupils, revealing my secrets for success, for a fee of course.
After finishing your job post, wait for approval. You will get your job's current income and bonus Zeni from your grade: a hundred multiplied by your grade. Everytime you work you gain +10 exp in that current job (+25 if you are a human), and with more experience you get more zeni.
1 Exp = +10 income.
Jobs are as follows.
- Space Pirate: You work for the WTO, clearing planets of their native population so that they can be sold by the organization. Your rewards are great, but your name is even greater.
Starting income: 1,100 ZN.
Special: This job can only be acquired on Vegeta or Frieza 79, other races aren't interested in this business. You also need your own spaceship to do this job. Negative alignment changes are easier to achieve by doing this job.
- Criminal: You are a vicious criminal, enforcers of law struggle to find you, while you go, stealing and burning.
Starting income: 100 ZN.
Special: In every job post, you can choose any item that's worth 1,000 zeni or less. This has something to do with your stealing.
- Servant: You are a servant, serving someone who is rich and important. You are always expected to be where you were ordered to go, annoying right? At least you get paid.
Starting income: 1,000 ZN.
Special: None.
- Master: You are an honoured master, well known for your martial artist's reputation. Your pupil is willing to pay for your teachings, what a wise choice he/she has made.
Starting income: 400 ZN.
Special: You get a free henchman, a pupil. You are able to train this guy's stats, teach him moves etc.
- Merchant: You are a wealthy merchant, selling high-quality goods and gadgets around the galaxy.
Starting income: 500 ZN.
Special: You can sell your own items with a 10% higher price, adding into income.
- Assassin: You kill for money, always getting a good reward for success. Many great individual's fear you, for their enemies could hire you.
Starting income: 1,000 ZN.
Special: Negative alignment changes are easier to achieve by doing this job.
- Superhero: You fight against crime everyday, often receiving rewards from your customers.
Starting income: 600 ZN.
Special: Positive alignment changes are easier to achieve by doing this job.
- Fighter: You are an entertaining fighter, beating opponents in the ring to entertain the observers.
Starting income: 900 ZN.
Special: +2 to all stats after working.
Shopping

Buying stuff is pretty simple, just make sure the desired item is avainable around your current location and you have the sufficient amount of zeny. Make a topic and roleplay how you pay and acquire the item. List your bought items in the bottom and count total zeni loss. After approval zeni will be decreased and the item(s) you bought will be added. If you are buying equipment, you can state if you want it equipped immeaditely.
- Trading
Trading can be done while interacting in open rp, a member offers money to another member for an item or many items. The selling member can set the price for the item. If both agree the buyer's zeni is then decreased, he gets the item and the seller gets more zeni. Simple as that.
- Theft
You have the option to steal items, rather than buy them. This will get you negative alignment though. You need to post a topic where you rp sneaking, hiding or planning before the actual success/failure. You can steal up to 1,000 Zeni or an item/outfit that costs 1,000 Zeni or less.
When you are attempting the theft, stop before the actual act and roll a 3-sided dice (this option is found below the "Preview" and "Send" buttons when replying), this will determine success/failure. If you get 1 or 2 = Failure, you got nothing, bounty increases by 100 zeni and you must run away from the law enforcers. 3 = Success, you gained what you wanted, bounty increases by 200 zeni and alignment drops down. After a successful theft you have to wait for a day to do it again, so basically you could go stealing once every day if you always succeed. Bounty and everything else related to crime is explained later on.
Quests

Doing quests can be very rewarding, and you get to really exercise your rp skills. Before posting though, check that you meet the quest's requirements. Now follow the quest and it's description carefully, what's not told in the description is yours to roleplay and make up so that all posts are unique. There's a minimum wordcount in each quest, you will follow them or there will be no approval. After you have written the required number of words and the quest is well-written, copy-paste the rewards and put them into the bottom of your post, so mods or admins won't be forced to check the quests page for the rewards. After that is sorted out, wait for approval and your grade. Grade x 2 = grade bonus.
It is also possible to team up! You can do any quest with another player, this will get the required wordcount up faster, but you have to share the rewards with your helper. Even the grade bonus will be shared between you and your helper. Players will post in turns, progressing with the quest's storyline, every post must be 200 words long.
Unless stated otherwise only two people may participate. But saga quests,
for example, can be done by an infinite number of people.
Open-rp

Open-rp is a common term in DBR and some other rpgs, for an "activity" that involves roleplaying for no particular benefit. You might post something for fun, or two or more players would interact with each other, making new rp friends or foes. It is possible to gain alignment points or stat points though, if you are not posting too often. It depends on the moderator/admin, and what you do in the post.
